Professional Football Player. For two seasons, he played in the National Football League (NFL) with the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Born in Deadwood, South Dakota in 1957, Puki played college football with the Tennessee Volunteers before being drafted by the 49ers in 1980. He was on Super Bowl XVI's winning team. Issues with substance abuse led to his departure from the team, before he spent one more season in the NFL with the Cardinals in 1982. His life after football was largely unknown.
