Obituary from The Wrangell Sentinel - Friday, November 27, 1953: FRITZ ANGERMAN, PROMINENT WRANGELL RESIDENT, SUCCUMBS. Fritz Angerman, 51, owner of the Royal Blue Taxicab company, died last Saturday afternoon at his home here. He had suffered a stroke a few years ago which left him partially paralyzed. Death was induced by a blood clot. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Episcopal Church with the Rev. Hugh Hall officiating, followed by internment in Wrangell Memorial Cemetery. Scores of friends filled the church to overflowing for the impressive last rites for the man universally respected in the community. Masons and Redmen, fraternal orders of which he was a member, took part, the Masons being in charge of services at the cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Carlson, Gus Beckman, Charles Lunde, Dr. E. J. Wheeler, Robert Urata, Hubert Wellons and Harry Coulter and active pallbearers were Ralph Devenny, Harry Sundberg, Neil Grant, Winston Davies, Herman Danielson and Olaf Hansen, all old friends of the family. Angerman was born in Flattach, Austria, April 13, 1902. He came to the United States in 1921, going to Latouche, where he was a machinist with the old Kennecott copper mine. He went back to Austria in 1925 to marry Helen Reiter, the couple returning Latouche where he was with Kennecott until 1930 when they moved to Wrangell where the family has lived since. Angerman operated the shingle mill here for several years and later was with the city light plant. He purchased the Royal Blue Cab company from the late Jack Fisher about 10 years ago and with his son, Fred, has operated the service since. Surviving are his wife; daughter Helen; three sons, Fred, Leonard and Richard; two sisters and one brother in Austria and a brother in Fairbanks, Frank Angerman.
