James Leon Barlow was born January 8, 1939, in Okeesa, Oklahoma, to Grover Talmage Barlow and Mildred Ann Dale Barlow. He died Thursday, June 22, 2023, in Oologah, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years.
James (Jim) completed his secondary education in Sperry, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Sperry High School Class of 1957. He was married December 19, 1958, in Sperry to Patricia Ann Reece.
Jim spent much of his professional career as an accomplished entrepreneur and was a founder of Barlow-Hunt, Inc. He and Patricia were members of the First Baptist Church in Talala, OK. Jim enjoyed a variety of pastimes including working on his farm and ranch, as well as raising cattle, hay and beekeeping. He also enjoyed cars and spent many hours building them in his younger years. He dearly loved his family, raising his two boys with his wife, and was especially fond of his role as "Pa Pa".

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Ernest Barlow, Gene Barlow, and Phil Barlow.
Visitation with family present will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2023, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Jim Barlow, Jr., officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Joey Barlow, Chapman Barlow, Andrew Barlow, Wayne Barlow, Jeff Barlow, and Benny Robinson. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Talala, Oklahoma.
