Leon Adams, of Harrison, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the age of 83.
The son of Arch and Mae (Campbell) Adams was born on January 6, 1940 in Deer, Arkansas. He was a lifelong resident of Boone County and attended Southern Hills Baptist Church for many years.
Leon worked as a truck driver, and he was also an antique dealer. He and his wife owned and operated the antique store, Granny's Mansion, for many years. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan; but he was his grandson's biggest fan and loved watching him play basketball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also collected antique fishing lures.
Leon loved God, his family, and his friends. He always treated people the right way. He was a loving, caring, and gentle man with a big heart and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Inez Dawson.
Leon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Faye (Baughman) Adams; his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Paula Adams; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Luke and Whitney Adams; his great grandsons, Camden Adams and Layne Adams; his sister, Rita Dees; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ken Collins and the Nurses and staff of Hillcrest Nursing Home for the many years of loving care given to Leon.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 178 James Way, Harrison, Arkansas.
