Mary Martinez of Glendale, AZ passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2021.

She was born in Ray, Arizona on February 24, 1933 to Francisco and Silveria Mejia. She worked at Glendale Community College and mentored many women that worked under her supervision, keeping in touch and becoming lifelong friends.

Many considered her as a mother and were so heartbroken on the news of her passing. It was incredible to hear the impact she had on their lives and the lives of so many others. She was generous and always placed other people's needs in place of her own. She was a prayer warrior. When someone needed prayer, she was first on the list to call and is probably on special assignment in Heaven.

To know our mother was to know love and be loved. She accomplished everything and more that God sent her to do on this earth. He welcomed her with open arms in heaven that morning and said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Her faith was deep and strong. She believed in God's power and miracles all the way until her last breath.

She is survived by sons Eddie Jr., Michael, James (Mary), daughter Barbara, granddaughter Yvonne Molina (Manuel) along with 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Martinez, Sr., whom she was married to for 60 years.

Mom, your world revolved around us because we were everything to you! Thank you for loving us the way you did. We were beyond blessed to have you as our mother and grandmother. You will always be remembered for telling us "Te quiero con todo mi corazon y mucho mas!"

A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home (6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301). A funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Helen Church (5510 W. Cholla St., Glendale, AZ 85304).
