Funeral services for Guy Harrod, 91, of Lovington will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Jackson Avenue Baptist Church with David Stewart and Jim Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery.

Mr. Harrod was born on October 13, 1916 in Snyder, Texas. He passed away on March 29, 2008 in Lovington, New Mexico. He married Mae Elsa Reiter in 1937 in St Francis, Arkansas. She passed away in 1993. He married Louise Killingsworth Harrod on September 2, 2000 in Lovington, New Mexico.

Guy served with the Navy SEABEES in WWII, serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of Jackson Ave Baptist Church, Past Master of Lovington Masonic Lodge #46, a member of Plains Masonic Lodge #1261 and a 32 degree mason and a member of Order of Eastern Star # 35 of Lovington and the VFW Post. He retired from Union of California as drilling foreman.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Harrod of the home; four stepdaughters: Gwen Reagan of Lubbock, Texas; Janie Rodman of Lubbock, Texas; Gina and husband Max Fort of Lovington, New Mexico; and Gay and husband Richard Jones of Lubbock, Texas; seven step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hettie Harrod; first wife, Mae Reiter Harrod; three sisters: Clara Harrod, Glennie Spears and Leota Gann; and five brothers: Lee, Rue, Bud, Frank, and Luther Harrod.
