J.J.Ziglar,of Slate Branch,died Saturday at his home.He was born June 14,1871,in Surry County,N.C.;he was united in marriage with Matlida C. Waston March,1899.To that union was born nine children;six of whom survive.Mr. Ziglar professed his faith in Christ and united with the Slate Branch Baptist Church in 1911.So long as his health permitted he was faithful in attending and supported the church in every way.He was in declining health for the past four years and bore this condition bravely.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five sons,Tom;John,Chester and Lester all of New Castle ,Indiana;and Bill of Somerset;a daughter ,Roxie Ziglar ;of Somerset;two sisters Mrs. Jeannie Vaught ;of Oklahoma City,& Mrs. Enma Apgar,of Saint Marys,Ohio.21 grandchildren AND 2 great-grandchildren.He was preceeded in death by a daughter Mary Nancy Zigler Stone.
Funeral services were conducted at the Slate Branch Baptist Church om Monday by the Rev. Bret Whiitaker and Rev.W.A.Reese.
Interment was in the adjoining cemetry.
