Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at Johns-Ridout's Chapel for Mrs. Anna Hostetler Powell, 65, of 1870 Seventh-pl. w, who died Saturday in a local hospital. Burial will be in Elmwood.
Mrs. Powell, a native of Indiana, lived in Birmingham 50 years. She was the widow of John C. Powell, long-time teacher at Ensley High School.
A graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, she taught for many years in Alabama's county school system and was a teacher at Graymont School the last 16 years.
She was a member of the Gassman Class at McCoy Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma teachers' fraternity, National Education Assn., and American Assn. of University Women.
Her survivors include a daughter, Mrs. J. M. Prude of Birmingham; a son, Dr. Ralph Powell of Mobile; and three sisters, Mrs. George Schauwet of South Bridge, Mass.; Mrs. E. H. Hake of Youngstown, Ohio; and Mrs. D. R. Searles of Jacksonville, Fla.
The Rev. W. E. Curl and the Rev. Paul Clem will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be J. B. Owen, C. A. Thornton, C. P. Watson, Herman E. Green, E. E. Calveri, and C. B. Hopkins.
