The funeral of Mr. Hugh Day, an old soldier who died at the Metropolitan Sanitarium, June 21st, was held from Q.J. Gilmore's undertaking parlors, 1020 Nineteenth street. Rev. C. D. Douglass officiated. Interment at Riverside cemetery.
In the 1885 Colorado State Census he is 46, widowed, living in Pueblo, Colorado & "relation to head of household" he is a servant.
In the household in 1885 is:
Howard M. Sale Head of household
Athie Sale Wife
De Sale Son
(Just my opinion, I think it sucks that he fought for the Union in the Civil War & then had to be a servant in Colorado) :/
