Frances Mancini
MANCINI Frances Frances Mancini, 97, a resident of Kingston of Perrysburg died March 31st, 2008. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania, the fourth of eight children of Anna and Peter Arthmire. In 1934 Frances married Peter John Mancini and moved to Detroit, Michigan where she was an active participant in the family business, Mancini Brothers Imported & Domestic Foods for more than 30 years. Mr. Mancini died in 1986. Frances moved to Toledo in 1994 and resided at West Park Place for 11 years. During that time and more recently at Kingston she made new friends and endeared herself to many in her new hometown of Toledo. She was a loyal follower of the Detroit Tigers listening to the games on radio and watching on TV for many years. However, she refused to actually attend a game because it would be "just too exciting". Frances' recipes for Italian specialties, graciously shared with many, will be passed along as some of the best home-style cooking to come out of the east side of Detroit. She is survived by her sons, Orlando (Jean) Mancini of Frederic, MI, and Arthur (Mary) Mancini, M.D. of Perrysburg, OH; 6 grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Mancini, Grand Rapids, MI, Richard (Sara) Mancini, Kalamazoo, MI, Sherry Mancini, San Francisco, CA, Peter (Marianne) Mancini, East Tawas, MI, Trisha (John) Topping, Ypsilanti, MI and Liz (Karl) Koto Grosse Point, MI. and 9 great-grandchildren; also surviving are her sister, Louise Meraglia, Warren MI, and brother, Frank Arthmire, St. Claire Shores, Michigan. Local Arrangements by the J. Jeffrey Fretti Funeral Home, 5045 W. Sylvania Ave. (at Corey Rd.) 419-843-1117. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 4th at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The Reverend Duane Novelly will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5th at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Whittier at Harper Avenue in Detroit. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Kingston of Perrysburg for their loving care of Frances for the past 2 years.
