He served his country proudly in the Royal Air Force for 22 years as a chef.
He also owned numerous businesses including a bakery, bed and breakfast, and The Herb Center, selling herbs to many hotels and restaurants.
On January 30, 1960, Ron married Joy Ellis. They immigrated to the United States in 2006 to be closer to their children.
Ron enjoyed riding his bike and hiking, he even hiked the highest peaks in Scotland. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be greatly missed.
Ron is survived by his wife, Joy Elvidge;
daughter, Denise (Randy) Porter both of Peshtigo, WI;
son in law, Gary Polzin of Porterfield, WI;
grandchildren: Jon-Preston and Jon-Luke McAdams;
and three great grandchildren all of Washington;
step grandchildren: Rachel Porter of Peshtigo, WI and Keith Porter of LA and three step great grandchildren;
sister in law, Bev (John) Jordan;
and brother in law, John (Chris) Ellis;
nieces and nephew all of England.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Polzin;
two brothers in law and a sister in law.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral home on Friday, August 4th from 10-11am. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am with entombment to follow at Forest Home Mausoleum
