Martha Kidd

Martha Wade Kidd, 88, of Parkersburg died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Sutton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harper J. and Rose Wesley Wade. She was a homemaker and worked at Dils Brothers Department Store in the 60's and 70's. She was a member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church for 20 years.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Mel Neely of Parkersburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Penny Kidd of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Carrie Ann Kidd and Adam Merrill Kidd, both of Parkersburg; a brother and sister-in-law, James "Jimmy" and Corrine Wade of Parkersburg; a sister, Connie Deem of Vienna; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Wade of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill B. Kidd in 1979; a brother, Jack Wade; and two sisters, Josephine "Mary" Gannon and Irene Smith.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at North Parkersburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Kent Boone officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
