Mildred is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edgar Hull Frederic Jr.; two daughters and their husbands, Leslie Allyson Durr and Aubrey Louis Durr, of Baton Rouge, Tracey Lynn Thornton and Dale Maurice Thornton, of Marietta, Ga.; four granddaughters, Lauren Eileen Durr, of Raleigh, N.C., Madeline Clare Durr, of Baton Rouge, Natalie Elisa Thornton and Naomi Haulei Thornton, both of Marietta; two brothers and a sister, Doyle Franklin Fillers, of Little Switzerland, N.C., Betty Dean Beals and Raymond Wallace and Nina Ruby Fillers, all of Afton, Tenn.; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis Franklin Fillers and Gladys Mace Fillers and two brothers, Denver Bruce Fillers and Dennis Aylor Fillers, all whom were of Afton; and her very special friend and sister-in-law, Eileen Sinclair Fillers, of Little Switzerland.
Mildred and her husband, Ed, enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and traveled extensively in western Europe. She found Switzerland, especially Luzerne, to be one of her favorite places to visit. Mildred was an expert seamstress and made most of her daughters' clothes when they were growing up; an estimated 3,000 dresses and outfits over the years, including Leslie's wedding dress. She was an avid reader of mostly nonfiction books; and loved poetry. She had a very sizeable collection of books. She wrote a collection of 24 mostly personal poems during the years 1986-1996.
