Mother of Mrs. J. B. Sneed Died at Moulton, Sunday Moulton, Ia.--Mrs. R. B. Carson, wife of the last surviving Civil war veteran of Moulton G. A. R. post, died at her home in Moulton Sunday afternoon at 2:00 oklock after & lingering illness. She was born in Green county, Penn., April 26, 1862, and at death was 82 years, 3 months and 23 days of age.
She was married to R. B. Carson December 23, 1872. To this union was born five children, one son dying in infancy and another son, Guy R. Carson of Des Moines, died in 1920.
Surviving members of the Immediate family are the aged companion, R. B. Carson, two sons, Craig and George of Moulton, and one daughter, Mrs. J. B. Sneed of Moravia.
Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Dr. Mott R. Sawyers of Centerville.
Mrs. Carson had lived in Moulton the greater part of 62 years in the game home where her death occurred, and until the last few years was an active participant in community af-fairs, alwags interested in the better things of life. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Moulton. and untiring In the work of the church and its affiliated societies. She was also a member of the P. E. O. sisterhood and the Order of Eastern Stars.
