Henry Jackson "Papa Jack" Thompson, 94, husband of the late Aileen McKern Thompson, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born in Walhalla, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Justice and Mae Moore Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Forester with Brunswick Pulp and Land Company. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, David Thompson; daughter, Jackie Dunn; grandchildren, Shelley Dunn, Jessica Dunn, Emily Wallace, and Barrett Dunn; sisters, Donna Styles and Margaret Dillard; and a brother, Horace "Tab" Thompson.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Thompson; brothers, Carlisle, James, Floyd, and Harold Thompson and sisters, Fredda Acker, Ninetta Spearman, and Viola Griffin.
Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
