"Miss Marie F. Karnes, a former St Joseph resident, died yesterday in Los Angeles where she had lived for twenty-two years. She was an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. Miss Karnes was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Karnes of St Joseph and was born on the Karnes farm northeast of St Joseph. She was a niece of James H. Karnes who died July 8. Her only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs. J. B. Walker, of St Joseph. The body will arrive here Monday and will be taken to the Meierhoffer mortuary where services will be the following morning, Dr. C. M. Chilton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Mora Cemetery."
