Architect. Born in Sidney, Ohio, she studied architecture and engineering and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. During the Great Flood of 1937, she was offered and accepted a permanent position with the Corps of Engineers to work on navigation and flood control projects in Cincinnati. In 1939, she was appointed as head of the Architecture Department with the Corps and supervised the construction of the Beechmont Levee. In 1941, she passed the architecture exam and resigned her position from the Corps in 1946 to pursue a private practice. Boyer co-founded the Vogt, Ivers, and Associates in Cincinnati and became director of the firm's architecture division. Boyer was instrumentally involved in several major construction projects including structures at the Ryerson Steel Company, the WCPO-TV studios, and at King's Island Amusement Park. She was responsible for the design of the Elmwood Place School and Shawnee Park. Boyer retired in 1975 after a heart attack but continued to work as a consultant for the Hamilton County Park District. She died in Cincinnati in 1998 when she was 90 years old.
