Orvan Lee Adams, age 88, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 3:46 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at his home. He was born June 15, 1935, in Brighton, Colorado, the son of Lorren and La Verne (Fassnacht) Adams.

Orvan was a 1953 graduate of Elsmore High School in Elsmore, Kansas. He was a United States Army Veteran and was a Building Contractor. He was a former Commander of the American Legion Post 120 in Miller. He was a member and Deacon of Summit Baptist Church and was a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

On March 8, 1958, he married Frances Kay Toncray in Osawatomie, Kansas. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2021.

Orvan is survived by three sons, Jim Adams and his wife, Christa, of Miller, Missouri, Randy Adams and his wife, Debbie, of Nixa, Missouri and Ken Adams and his wife, Helen, of Miller, Missouri; six grandchildren, Eric, Tiffany, Jeff and Trenton Adams all of Miller, Missouri, Brittany Adams of Omaha, Nebraska and Nicole Miller and her husband, Nathan, of Nixa, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Ashlyn, Alyssa, Nate, Delainee, Joslynn and Bennett; one brother, Francis Adams, of South Greenfield, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Orvan was preceded in death by his parents, Lorren, and LaVerne; his wife, Kay; one sister, Dorothy Byers and three brothers, Albert, Alvin, and Billy Adams.

A visitation under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Summit Baptist Church with a graveside service to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Summit Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Honor Flight of the Ozarks, in care of the funeral home.
