Charles "Ernest" New peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the age of 89 on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Ernest was born on Tuesday,, October 18, 1932, in Speaks , Texas, to Oscar "Buck" and Ada Cook New.
Ernest graduated from Edna High School, after graduation he served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army from March of 1953 to March of 1955.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Ada New, and his brother, OL New.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Texas or the Speaks Cemetery Association.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 1:30 pm.... Interment will follow at Speaks Cemetery, in Speaks, Texas.
