Alva (Laney) Sheets, 94, of Iowa Park, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008.

The graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2008, at Crestview Memorial Park. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A daughter of the late Sam and Betty Jane (Prather) Laney, she was born March 13, 1914, in Bennington, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oness Sheets on December 9, 1994; also a brother and seven sisters. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughters, Norma Dickenson and husband, John of Sacramento, California; Shirley Henry of Frisco; Linda Harris of Iowa Park; and Judy McCarthy and husband, John of Corpus Christi; son, Freddie Sheets of Wichita Falls; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
