was the son of Robert Jepson, grandson of James Jepson. Was living at 19 Oliver Street, Linthorpe, Middlesborough by the 1891 Census.

He went back to Lye, Worcestershire, to find a wife, and that's where he met Alice Lavender, and brought her back to Middlesborough.

He like his father, were Stokers at the pig-iron foundry in Middlesborough. He was also a Cooper by trade.
