On August 11, 2023 Sara "Sam" Mae Bishop Taylor, a longtime resident of Enoch, UT, went to be with her Father in Heaven at the age of 81. She passed away at the Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV.

Sam was born April 9th, 1942 in Albright, WV to Hoy Bishop and Sarah Irene Weimer Bishop. Sam was the youngest of 6 girls and had a brother who died at birth. She loved living on their family farm and riding her pony. When she was 15 years old her father passed away. After graduating high school, she and her mom moved to Jackson Hole, WY where she worked on a dude ranch, was a maid at a hotel, and joined the Snow King ski patrol. She attended University of Wyoming for one year and thanks to her roommate Pat, became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later, she was ready for an adventure and moved to Alaska driving a VW Beetle up the ALCAN Highway.

While in Alaska, she met Lynn Taylor, who was stationed at Fort Richardson Air Force Base and they came to know each other through many church activities. On November 22, 1967 they were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.

She worked for North American Space, known today as NASA, while Lynn attended Long Beach State College. While living in California, 4 children were born (their first baby boy was stillborn). In 1977 they decided to move to Enoch, UT, to raise their family in the "Old Enoch Church". They welcomed 3 more children while living in Utah and enjoyed the close family community they found there.

Sam was adventurous, had a good sense of humor and loved to read. She loved antiques, thrift store shopping, family history, sharing stories and spending time with her children and 20 grandchildren. She was an excellent cook. She loved serving her family and others. Sam loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lived a life of quiet devotion. She passed away in West Virginia while serving her sister and nephew.

She is survived by her husband Lynn, and their children: Forrest (Emily), Sara (Mike) Cook, Preston (Mindy) , Cameron (Cassandra), Holly (Cason) Adams and her 20 beautiful grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Craig (Krista).

Viewings will be held Friday, August 25 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 26 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Homestead building located at 1390 East Midvalley Road in Enoch, Utah.
