Ronnie C. Smither, of Port Richey, FL, formerly of Casey County, KY, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in Florida. He was 79.

Born August 16, 1944, in Casey Co., KY, he was a son of the late Richard and Flossie Bryant Smither. Ronnie was a retired HVAC mechanic. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ronnie was an avid golfer. He enjoyed going to horse races and watching baseball.

Left to cherish his memory are his dear wife, Lillian Atwood Smither; daughter, Juanita Carol Smither; brothers, Gary (and Jean) Smither and Steven (and Judy) Smither; sister, Javana (and Mike) Short; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and his pet dog, Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Keith Smither; granddaughter, Heather Smither; brothers, Basil, Burrell, Richard, Harold, Buel, Curtis, and Vanus Smither; and sisters, Burrneatha Edwards, Velma Walls, Wanda Ponder, and Juanita Smither.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00Noon Saturday, September 9, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Foley officiating. Burial will follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery.
