Larry was the son of Walter Bell and Ann Heyward. He was educated in the Passaic County School System. He was employed with Lou Goodman's Appliance Center in Passaic, New Jersey and with Peter Bruce Construction Company for over 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of Frederick McCollough Masonic Order #92 in Passaic, New Jersey and the James Elm Elks Lodge #1180. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of North Jersey in Garfield, New Jersey.

He was married to Lisa Gibson Heyward in 2001. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jimmy Heyward, Craig Heyward and Scotty Heyward.

Wife: Lisa Heyward.
3 Daughters: LaKia Heyward, Shanice Heyward and Shatia Heyward.
2 Sons: Brian Davis and Kyrie Heyward.
5 Sisters: Patricia A. Heyward, Tina Bell, Michelle Bell, Rachel Bell and Jennifer Bell.
8 Brothers: Leroy Burgess, Steven Heyward(Zenaida), Paul Heyward(Victoria), Rayvon Heyward, Patrick Ervin, Benjamin Bell, Chris Bell and Jamison Bell.

Services were held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 7PM in the Sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church of North Jersey in Garfield, New Jersey with Pastor Calvin McKinnie Officiating.
