Scotty was the son of James Allen and Ann Heyward. He was educated in the Passaic County School System and was a Class of 1989 graduate of Passaic High School in Passaic, New Jersey. He was employed with Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant in Passaic, New Jersey as a Security Guard and Bartender for 7 years. He was also employed with The Crayola Company in Saddle Brook, New Jersey and with The Fiesta Restaurant in Passaic, New Jersey as a Bouncer and Security Guard.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jimmy Heyward (2003) and Craig "Ironhead" Heyward (2006).
