Joan was born on February 23, 1939, to Obie (Obidiah) and Ruby Blanchard Evans in Georgia, and at the age of seven moved to Florala, Alabama, where she spent her childhood.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Barbara (Bob) Townsend, Janet Leigh Evans, her brothers Harold (Buzzy) Evans, Dwight Evans, and Greg Evans.
Joan is survived by her sister, one daughter, one granddaughter, two great-grandsons, one great-great granddaughter, all of Virginia, one stepdaughter of Oklahoma, one niece and two nephews.
Joan had a strong love for her church and her church family. She was a cosmetologist and never lost the passion for her career. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on October 13, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home in Florala, with Father Bill officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 PM, burial will immediately follow at the family plot at Greenwood Cemetery.
