He married Birdie M Nokes Aug 24, 1893 in Adams, IL. Fred was a farmer, eventually owning his own place. Fred and Birdie had two daughters, Winifred and Marian.

The Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths Index shows Fred as being buried in Mount Sterling City Cemetery. Birdie was later buried there as well.
