Gretta Lavina Allen Landis, 91, died at 8:44 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2003 at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester.
Born Dec. 1, 1911 in Elwood, she was the daughter of James Franklin and
Eliza Emmaline Hester Etchison.
Born and raised in Elwood, she was a graduate of Elwood High School. She moved to Wabash in 1951 where she was a homemaker.
On March 22, 1933, she married Lawrence Allen. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1976. She then married Fred Landis on Oct. 15, 1977. He died on March 5, 1993.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Wabash Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, including the Past Matron's Club and the Largo Century Club.
She was preceded in death by a son Lloyd E. Allen; three brothers; three sisters; and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, 86 E. Main St., Wabash. Dr. Janice Fulbright will officiate the ceremony. Burial will follow at Elwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30.
