Hall of Fame Professional Golfer. One of the top females in the sport's history, she was an eight-time champion on the LPGA Tour, of which includes four-time U.S. Women's Open. Born Elizabeth Earle Rawls, she was raised in Texas and enrolled at the University of Texas where she majored in Physics and Math. After finding her interest in golf, she was tutored by legendary coach Harvey Penick which led to her capturing of the Texas State Amateur Championship in 1949. During the course of her career, she earned 55 victories on the LPGA Tour and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1960.
