Assael Abaiov was born in the Caucasus. As a young boy, in 1905, he immigrated to Israel with his family who settled in Be'er Ya'akov. Later he settled in Rishon Lezion. As part of his public activities, he served as the chairman of the Jewish Charities (Gamilot Chesedim) and collector of the "Mekor Haim" Synagogue.
