Ann (Komar) Barton, 102, of Apalachin, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Vestal Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ann came to the United States from Czechoslovakia at the age of two with her parents, Vasil and Anna Komar, who predeceased her. Ann is also predeceased by her husband, Richard D. Barton, her sister Mary, brothers George, John and Charlie. Ann is survived by two sons, Douglas (Gail) and Brett. Ann is also survived by three grandchildren, Alexis (Matt) Leonard, Charles Barton and Hannah Barton, and two great grandsons, Evan Leonard and Trent Leonard; two brothers, Andrew and Paul (Teri) Komar; a sister Delores (Susan Wolford); sister-in-law Jean Komar; brother-in-law Clifford (Joan) Barton and sister-in-law Wanda (Ronald) Carroll. Ann was a member of St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Endicott. Ann worked at Endicott Johnson and several local banking institutions. Ann was an immaculate housekeeper and excellent cook. She enjoyed spending time with her cherished family, celebrating orthodox holidays, doing crossword puzzles, and bowling, which she did into her nineties. Calling hours will be held at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott, NV, on Monday October 30, from 10 am until 11:30 am. Immediately following, the Rev. Father Nathaniel Choma will conduct the funeral service. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin, NY. The family wishes to thank the staff at Vestal Park for the excellent and loving care provided to Ann and for the compassion shown to her family during Ann's last days.
