Eddie Walker, 82, of Danville, passed away Monday at University of Kentucky Hospital.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Betty Lovett Walker. He was born in Danville, Kentucky on Feb. 19, 1934, to the late Carl and Helen Simms Walker.
Eddie was an engineer for Corning Glass for many years and loved woodworking; making furniture pieces and special turned items, such as his specialty, wooden bowls. He served our country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Junction City First Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. Most of all, Eddie loved his family dearly and they loved their Paw.
Along with his wife Betty, surviving are a son, Mike (Judy) Walker of Danville; two granddaughters, Cortney Dillingham (Ryan) and Allison McGuffey (Bo), both of Danville; five great-grandchildren, Raegan McGuffey, Eli McGuffey, Allie McGuffey, Addy Ruth Dillingham, and Garrett Dillingham; two sisters, Carlene Moore of Danville, and Jean Walker of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Ernest Martin officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Dillingham, Bo McGuffey, Chris McAfee, Butch Belcher, Steve Moore, Joe Moore and Joe Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Junction City First Baptist Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
