Helen S. Walker
Helen Simms Walker, 75, of Stanford Road died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, after a long illness. Born Oct. 5, 1911, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Lillie Rankin Simms. She was the widow of Carl J. Walker. She was a homemaker and a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and the Boyle County Homemakers. She also formerly served as district chairman for Kentucky Farm Bureau. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Walker of Lexington and Mrs. Robert (Carlene) Moore of Boyle County ; a son, Eddie S. Walker of Boyle County; four grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville, by the Rev. Austin Roberts. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Danville-Boyle County Rescue Squad or a favorite charity.
