Mrs. Ruth Kenyon Treadwell, 78, of Algonquin, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 1979, in St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.

Born May 25, 1901, in Elgin, she was the daughter of W. C. and Grace Manley Kenyon. She was a member of the Algonquin Post 670 American Legion Auxiliary; the Elgin Chapter 212, OES; the Alabet Temple 31; the Daughters of the Nile, Rockford and Pi Xi Iota Sorority of Elgin.

Surviving are her widower, William Hale Treadwell Sr.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Barbara) Roeser of Oak Park; a son, William Hale Treadwell Jr., of Algonquin; six grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Gifford of South Elgin, Mrs. Hartzell (Jeanette) Dean of Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Walter (Frances Gusmann of Elgin; four brothers, Dave Kenyon of Oakfield, Wis., John Kenyon of Elgin and Warren and W.C. "Bud" Kenyon, both of South Elgin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Harold.

Funeral services will be held in the Stout Funeral Home, Elgin and will be at 1 p.m Wednesday. The Rev. Willis A. Reed will officiate. Cremation will be in Elm lawn Crematory, Elmhurst.
