Byson Hart was born in Sommerson, Huntingtonshire, England on April 3, 1822 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Wood in the town of Bristol, Thursday evening, Dec. 21, 1905. Death was due to the infirmities consequent upon old age. Mr. Hart came to America with his wife in 1852 and settled in Madison county, NY and in 1858 came to Wisconsin. For ten years he resided at Marshall, then removed to Sun Prairie and made his home in this vicinity until his death. He was twice married. His first wife died twenty years ago and he later married Mrs. Lucy Ann Chase, who also preceded him to the grave. He was the father of four children; three sons and one daughter. Two sons, James and William died in young manhood. The other son, Edward lives at Hudson, SD and the daughter, Mrs. Jane Wood, is a resident of Bristol. Mr. Hart was a genial, kindly gentleman with a strong sense of justice and could invariably be found in support of the weaker if the cause be a worthy one. He made no enemies and cherished no enmities and was a stranger to covetousness and envy. He possessed the respect of everyone with whom he associated and he will long be kindly remembered by many friends in this community. Funeral services were held at the residence Saturday at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. Stark. Interment was made in the Bristol Cemetery.
