A lather employed by the Ingersoll Plastering Co., he was working on the Silver Lake School addition when he became ill. Mr. Greening called his wife, Catherine, who made an appointment for him later that afternoon. He passed away three hours before his appointment.
A World War II veteran, he was born in Frostburg, Maryland and had lived in Akron six years. He was a member of the Lathers Union, Firestone Park Presbyterian Church, and Frostburg Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Along with his wife, he leaves a son, Glenn R.; daughter, Mrs. Joseph Brady of Frostburg; three brothers, Paul, Charles and John; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Collins and Mrs. James (Doris) Schrock; plus a grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Schlup Funeral Home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
