Andreas "Andy" Albert, age 96, Bremen, formerly of Nappanee, died at 9:40 am, Friday, November 3, 2023 at his residence of natural causes. He was born September 14, 1927 in Torak, Yugoslavia to Mattias and Maria (Bobicov) Albert. He married Anna Fleischmann February 4, 1950. She preceded in death June 11, 2019.
Mr. Albert had served as an Infantry Soldier in WW II. Andy and Anna moved to Nappanee from Germany in 1956. He had worked at Franklin Coach and Newmar in Nappanee. After retirement, he did maintenance work at Nappanee Missionary Church.
Andy is survived by his daughter, Elli (Bert) Hochstetler, Nappanee; son-in-law, Larry Canon, Mishawaka; grandchildren, Heidi (Jon) Willis, Jason (Becca) Hochstetler, Holly (Jason) Shafer, Aaron (Monica) Hochstetler, Christine Cannon, Stephanie Cannon, Adam (Carnie) Cannon; 22 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rosina Cannon; siblings, Anna Simon, Paul Albert, Gertrude Zach, Rossel Fazekas, and Maria Sajti.
Family and friends may call from 2:30 -4:00 pm, Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 pm. Rev. Cami Coffin and Pastor Joe Focht will officiate and burial will take place in South Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Whitlock in Bremen.
