Howard B. Anfinson, 95, of Cushing died Sunday, September 18, 1994, in a Sioux City hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 21, at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Cushing with Pastor Douglas Opp and Rev. John Battern officiating. Interment was in the Cushing Cemetery under direction of Barker Funeral Service. Howard Bernard Anfinson was born July 19, 1899, in Cushing, the son of Albert and Isabelle (Olson) Anfinson. He graduated from Cushing High School in 1918. He married Goldie E. Coon June 12, 1922, in Correctionville. Goldie passed away August 20, 1968. Howard married Murle Larson January 13, 1973, in Sloan. He owned and operated Anfinson Construction of Cushing. In 1934 he owned an automobile dealership in Correctionville. In 1943 he sold the dealership to concentrate on the construction business. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cushing, past member of the Farm and Town Club of Cushing, and served on the Woodbury County Board of Review for many years. Survivors include wife, Murle, son Raymond of Akron, Iowa, daughter, Mrs. Richard (Delores) Monfort of San Diego, California, stepson, Thomas Larson of Canon City, Colorado, stepdaughter, Mrs. Alfred (Connie) Heinse of Arvada, Colorado, brother, Louis and wife Helen Anfinson of Long Beach, California, two sisters, Rena Mohr of Correctionville and Mrs. Erivan (Blanche) Madsen of Holstein, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded by parents, wife Goldie, grandson Mark Anfinson, three brothers, Clarence, Fred and Clifford, and one stepbrother, Roy Patterson. Burial: 21 September 1994, Cushing Cemetery, Woodbury Co., Iowa
