Mrs. Annie Angevine Metcalfe, widow of Alfred T. Metcalfe and mother of Tristram Walker Metcalfe, dean of Long Island University, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida M. Russ, 138 W. 12th St., Manhattan. She underwent an operation in the Flower Hospital, Manhattan, a few weeks ago.
Mrs. Metcalfe, who was in her 80th year, was born in the Eastern District, where she lived for nearly 50 years. She was a member of All Souls Universalist Church and always retained her interest in Brooklyn affairs even while she was a resident of Montclair, N. J.
She was a member of the Portia Club and was for 20 years treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary of the Flatbush Boys Club. She also belonged to the Central Circle and other organizations of All Souls Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Russ; two sons, Tristam and Ernest G. Metcalfe, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Fairchild Chapel, 86 Lefferts Place, on Sunday, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Cornelius Greenway of All Souls Universalist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the family plot at Cypress Hills Cemetery.
