Louise Bordelon, 92, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Our House for Respite in Baton Rouge.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Anthony Bordelon; her parents, Charles and Ida Mayeux; and one sister, Ethel Julia Gilmore.

Louise will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was affectionately known as "Granny" to her grandchildren. Louise was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and more recently, St. Rita Catholic Church.

Louise, a storyteller, authored enchanting children's stories, each one lovingly written for her grandchildren. Her tales created lasting memories that will be treasured. Louise was also a skilled seamstress and her attention to detail was woven into each hand-crafted creation. With a knack of finding the perfect present for any occasion, Louise found enjoyment in giving.

Louise's love for literature, movies, and travel was evident. She felt very fortunate to explore cities like London, Paris, and New York. Additionally, she showcased her culinary skills in the kitchen.

She also served her community as a hospital volunteer at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, offering support and comfort to those she attended. Louise was also a surviving spouse to her husband, Roger, who served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Louise will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, Ellen Brocato (Sam), Kathy Lohman (Joe), Julie Melzer (Bob), and Brian Bordelon (Julie K.); six grandchildren, Phil Brocato, Sam Brocato, II, Doug Petrus, Ryan Brocato, Lance Lohman, and Lauren Lohman; along with eleven great-grandchildren.

Paying tribute to their grandmother, Louie's six grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Great-grandchildren, Mason Petrus and Sam Brocato III, will be recognized as honorary pallbearers, while Luke Brocato and Joseph Brocato, great-grandchildren, will be honored as altar servers.

The Bordelon Family wishes to thank the staff of our House for Respite for the loving attention and care they showed Louise. They also would like to extend a special thank you to Verly Polk and Hamah Young for their support.

Charitable donations in Louise's memory can be made to Our House for Respite, 2967 Carmen Dr., Baton Rouge, La. 70809.
