ZONA MAE FOOS, 90, a life-long resident of Newport, died at 8 p.m. yesterday at Parke County Nursing Home in Rockville.

Born July 24, 1894, in Vermillion County, she was the daughter of Alva and Lillie Harvey Bonebrake.

In 1923, she and her husband, Claude, started Foos' Department Store in Newport where she worked for 55 years and sold the store in 1958 to their son Roscoe.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1959.

She was a member of Newport United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Roscoe, Newport; two sisters, Ethel Akers, Hillsdale; and Bessie Pierson, CA; one grandson, Roscoe Foos, Jr., Atlanta, GA; one granddaughter, Peggy Ann Uhey, Terre Haute; 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga with Pastors Jim and Ruby Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery in Newport. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
