Obituary from The Wrangell Sentinel - Friday, December 23, 1932: Isaac Arola Dies From Heart Disease. Isaac Arola, pioneer Alaskan and a resident of Wrangell for 17 years, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son, George Arola. The end came suddenly though he had been in failing health for the past seven years from asthma and heart disease. Mr. Arola was born in Finland 71 years ago. He came to the Untied States with his wife and infant son about 44 years ago and settled in Astoria, Oregon where his wife died in 1893 leaving him with three small sons. He went to Dawson in the Klondike excitement of 1898 and spent the next sixteen years in mining and prospecting in Dawson, Fairbanks, Circle City and other interior points. Returning to the states he spent a year on the Pacific coast and then came to Wrangell where he has since resided. He is survived by his sons, Carl, John and George Arola, his granddaughter Elna Arola and grandson Edward Arola, all of Wrangell, and by many friends and neighbors who held him in highest regard. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock at St. Philip's church. Internment will be in the Redmen's cemetery at Wrangell.
