It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David Padgett, who departed this world to be with his Heavenly Father on October 20, 2023, in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

David, known to many as a caring and warm-hearted soul, will be remembered as a loving father to his four cherished children, Nathan, Liam, Mason, and Elizabeth. He was the epitome of a loving father, a love that showed no distance.

In addition to his role as a father, David was a son who deeply treasured his relationship with his father, Bobby. The memory of his mother, Terry, who passed away on April 21, 2006, and stepmother, Beth Padgett, who passed away on August 14, 2023, stayed cherished in his heart until the day of his passing. He also shared a close bond with his two brothers, Dustin and Dylan. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond, rooted in love, support, and a shared sense of adventure.

Lastly, David leaves behind his beloved grandmother, Iris, whom he cherished more than anyone in the universe. Their special connection was a source of great joy and comfort to him throughout his life.

David's heart was expansive, and his love extended to countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, whom he adored immensely. He had a remarkable ability to connect with and bring joy to everyone he met.

David was a pillar of his community, always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it was assisting a neighbor with yard work or coming to the aid of any family member in need, David's generosity knew no bounds.

One of David's most endearing qualities was his infectious sense of humor. He was the undisputed king of corny jokes and a true goofball at heart. His laughter was a beacon of joy that brightened the lives of those around him.

David's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support.

A celebration of David's life will take place at Harwood Home for Funerals in Black Mountain on Saturday, October 28th with a visitation at 12pm, and the service beginning at 1pm.
