Brinkman, Sidney Earl, 80, died suddenly on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in Wichita, Kansas. service 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 12, Downing and Lahey Mortuary East. Sidney was born March 9, 1928, to Dorothea Laura Rath Brinkman and John Henry Brinkman in Chanute, Kansas. He enlisted in the military and served his country in the 28th Infantry Division during the occupation of Germany. He returned home and graduated magna cum laude from Wichita State University. Later he earned an MS in Accounting at WSU and became a CPA. He married Shirley Louise Harr on June 2, 1961 in Wichita. Following a brief stint in public accounting with Bonicamp, Koelling & Smith, Sid joined the accountancy faculty at WSU an assistant professor in 1968, retiring in 1993. He was a loving husband to his wife, Shirley, of the home and was a devoted uncle to 13 nieces and nephews, 17 great-nieces and nephews and 16 great-great= nieces and nephews. Sidney possessed a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed. Memorial to: American Hear Association. P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601.
