James Joe Lanier Tuesday, May 21st, 1935 – Thursday, November 23rd, 2023

James Lanier, 88, of 310 N Rutherford St, Blacksburg, S.C. passed away on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills Inpatient Unit.

Born in Blacksburg, S.C., he was the husband of Louise Peterson Lanier and the son of Joe Lanier and Dorcus Carroll.

James formerly worked for Overnite and was of Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Lanier is survived by a son, Darren Lanier (Rhonda), five grandchildren: Joey Lanier, Courtney Morgan, Ashleigh Lanier, Brett Lanier, and Haylee Cunningham, and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Clingman Memorial Gardens with Rev. Darren Lanier officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes.
