Alma E. McBride, 90, formerly of East End and South Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at the Hospice Community Care Unit at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Dec. 7. 1905, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Alice Dann, and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Before her retirement in 1960, she was employed a number of years for Sordoni Enterprises.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McBride; a grandson, Robert McBride; sisters, Helen Jones, Edith Benckert, Abi Ralston and Alice Laubaugh; brothers, Raymond and Frank Dann.
Surviving are sons, Joseph P., Santa Barbara, Calif.: Robert J., Wilkes-Barre; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Isabel Bloom, El Cajon, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Saviour Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
