Evelyn Daragin Alcaide
November 12, 1955 - November 24, 2023

Evelyn Daragin Alcaide, of San Diego, California, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was born on November 10, 1955 to parents, Agustin and Ana, in Cabangan Zambales, Philippines. Evelyn had 3 older half-sisters on her mother's side. She was the youngest of her parents children together.

Evelyn attended "Immaculate Conception Academy" High School where she made many close friends; many of which she still knows today. It was also during this time when she met the love of her life, Melvin Alcaide. After high school she later went on to study English at Columban College in Olongapo, Philippines. Evelyn and Melvin were married on February 10, 1981.

Evelyn lived happily in the Philippines until 1983, when she moved with her husband to Yokosuka Japan. It was in Japan that Evelyn and her husband began building their family, with the birth of their first child in September of 1984. They enjoyed several happy years in Japan before they were eventually re-stationed to San Diego, California in 1985. A few short years later, Evelyn was blessed with her second child in June of 1987. Evelyn made many friends while in California and would often have relatives over to visit.

Due to her natural affinity towards children, she began her career working in childcare. She would later transition to being a full-time homemaker so she could focus more of her time on her husband, children, and later on, her grandchildren. She especially loved her granddaughters.

Evelyn was full of love. She loved taking care of people. She made many sacrifices over the years to give everything she possibly could for her children, family, and friends. Evelyn was the most beautiful, amazing, loving, strong, generous, selfless, and caring auntie, wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could be blessed with. She loved everyone so very much.

Survivors include: her husband; children; grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
