Respected and cherished by the community of Marblehead, treasured as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend of many, Elsie's legacy glows with the graceful radiance that marked her 94 years. Her journey ended as serenely as it was lived, encompassed by the love of family, echoing with laughter, and imbued with an undying zest for life.
Born on the 9th of November, 1928, in Boston, MA, Elsie was the daughter of the late Frederick L. and Beatrice Howell Dabney. Dover, MA, was her childhood home, the place that crafted the pages of her early life before marrying her soulmate, the late Alistair H. Gordon, on July 9, 1955. Together, they wove their dreams into reality in Marblehead, MA, where their hearts expanded to accommodate their three cherished children: Gwendolen, Alexander, and Douglas.
Elsie's story continues through her son and his wife of Marblehead, MA; her brother; her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
