Mrs. Ada Phillips McBeath, 72, Union RFD 1 died October 30 in the Neshoba County Hospital following an illness of several days. Mrs. McBeath was the wife of Roy McBeath, was a native of Leake County but had lived in the Steam Mill community most of her life. She was a Presbyterian holding membership in the Steam Mill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband include five daughters, Mrs. Frank Bunkley, Jr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vance both of Mobile, Ala., Mrs. R.C. Dove, and Mrs. Harold Payne of Jackson and Mrs. Jerome White of Jackson; three sons, Billy and A. C. McBeath of Union and Kenneth McBeath of Vicksburg; one sister, Mrs. A.K. Goss of Moselle and sixteen grandchildren.

Last rites were held at the Steam Mill church at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. The Revs. Claude Phillips and A.C. Acton officiated. Interment followed in the Steam Mill cemetery. Uhl and J.E. Walton, Millard and Earl Douglas Brewer, Howard Majure, Alvie Barker, Virgil Green and K.D. Comans were pallbearers. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
