David McComb, a resident of Sanilac county for many years, passed away Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Haley. He was brought to Cass City exactly a week before his death and had been working steadily up to that time.
Mr. McComb was born May 19, 1838, at Simco, Canada. About 55 years ago, he came to Michigan and has ever since resided in Sanilac county until within a few years when he lived with his brothers. He was a
splendid man, living a quiet and subdued life, but demanding respect and admiration of all those who knew him.
He is survived by three brothers, Dan McComb of Gladwin county, John McComb of Sanilac county, and Geo. McComb of Duluth.
The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Haley on Tuesday. Several relatives and friends were present at the funeral: Mrs. Jane Hickey of Detroit, Mrs. Effie McArthur of Detroit, Mrs. Dan McComb and son, David, and daughter, Mae, Mr. and Mrs. John McComb, Mr. and Mrs. David McComb, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McComb and Mrs. Will Smith and daughter, Maggie, all of Carsonville.

George McComb; who came Tuesday from his home in Pontiac to attend the funeral of David McComb of Sanilac county, met with an accident while he was riding to the home of John Haley from the depot. As they went at a rapid rate over a crosswalk, Mr. McComb was thrown to the top of the car hitting his head on a piece of steel. His head was so badly cut that it was necessary that nine stitches be taken.
